What does tooth whitening treatment involve?
Generally, we apply CARBAMIDE PEROXIDE, a chemical that releases cleansing oxygen molecules, progressively whitening the surface of the tooth.
In order to make the application of this product as easy as possible for you, we create customized mouth guards, fitted to each specific patient, which can then be filled with this chemical easily by the patient himself. This allows for at-home self-treatment, even during sleeping hours, and it can easily be repeated down the line as the teeth stain again by buying a new peroxide syringe and simply reusing the mouth guards themselves.
Will it last forever, or will I need to redo the treatment regularly?
If the patient avoids known tooth-staining habits (such as smoking or drinking excessive amounts of coffee), a single whitening procedure can last for years. When the teeth eventually lose a bit of their white luster, it can easily be re-achieved with a few days of repeat treatment.
Are there any requirements before I can undergo tooth whitening treatment?
We strenuously recommend a thorough dental checkup beforehand, in order to make sure there are no cavities or loose fillings that could cause filtrations, as either of these could lead to unnecessary discomfort and pain. A visit to your dentist is important in order to guarantee the best possible results!
