Dentist for children
up to 18 years of age
It consists of the treatment of children up to 18 years of age.
At 2 years of age, a child’s primary dentition is complete and it is advisable to get him used to daily dental hygiene, at first, with the help of his parents, and little by little, brushing his teeth on his own.
Oral checkups for children
It is very important to avoid the appearance of cavities by applying products such as fluoride to strengthen the teeth and to make sure that the child does not acquire any bad habits with the mouth such as thumb sucking or “pipe sucking” to avoid jaw deformities that require orthodontic treatment when the child reaches about 10 years of age; and to avoid diets rich in “sweets” and other carbohydrates that predispose to tooth decay.
If the child gets used to going to the dentist as a child, he/she will learn to prevent oral problems and when he/she has to undergo treatment, he/she will already be accustomed to his/her “regular” dentist.
The pediatric dentistry check-up costs 37 € and a fluoridation of 50 €, which is recommended every 6 months. During the visit we will also provide personalized dietary advice and oral hygiene instructions.
First consultation
1-2 years of age is the first visit recommended by the Association of Pediatric Dentistry.
Parents will receive their first guidelines on tips to keep their child’s mouth as it is then: CARIES-FREE.
But issues such as hygiene, feeding, pacifiers and habits are also valued. Over the years, a situation of normality is achieved in which the child is able to go to the dentist relaxed and without fear.
Milk teeth
The baby will be teething for the first time. There are 20 teeth that will appear from 6 months to 30 months. They are transitional teeth with different characteristics than permanent teeth. They are whiter and caries spread faster than in the definitive ones.
Our objective is to keep them because they maintain the space that the permanent teeth will occupy. A cavity or the early loss of a baby tooth predisposes to space problems in the permanent teeth.
We have prevention protocols for children at high risk of caries.
Permanent teeth
At 6 years of age, the first permanent molars begin to appear behind the last milk molars. Milk incisors begin their replacement. The guide for this transitional mouth will be the baby teeth. From 6 to 12 years of age, the mouth will undergo a great change. A total of 28 teeth will appear. And it will not be until about 18 years of age that wisdom teeth will appear.
